Meet the girl behind the brand

Hi there! I’m Maryam, the creator behind Designs by Dagan. In Somali, dagan means “steady”, “calm” or “even tempered”, and it is a nickname my mom gave me in my youth.

Not only is the brand an extension of me, but I hope it becomes an extension of all the girls who decide to invest in these pieces.

I started this journey out of my love for modest fashion and a desire to bring more color, life, and individuality into designs that truly reflect who we are. Inspired by the beauty of diverse prints and patterns, I wanted to create something that goes beyond just clothing—it’s about confidence, comfort, and meeting the unique needs of every girl.
